Videos Explaining Chiropractic
You can listen to British Chiropractic Association chiropractor Tim Hutchful discussing what is Chiropractic.
The message in this Chiropractic commercial I think is obvious. Sometime in life you can feel you are just not on top of your game. You don’t know why, but your movement feels awkward and uncomfortable.
Not everything in the musculoskeletal world has to have a structural diagnosis, most of the time it is a functional diagnosis. What I mean is that it is the way bones, muscles and nerves work together in movement is where the problem is. You don’t always need to go looking for an individual diagnosis of a disc herniation, muscle strain or radiculopathy all the time to explain why you feel you cannot move well. It could just be the signals aren’t great from your brain to your body and your body to your brain. Chiropractors sometimes use a pin to explain this eternal loop of communication necessary for the body to work well.
By the way nice moves Dr Nima 🙂

Definitions of Chiropractic
Here are the three official ways to define Chiropractic
“Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal manipulation or adjustment”
Definition by The World Federation of Chiropractic.
“Chiropractic is a healthcare discipline that emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, doctors of chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.”
Definition by The Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC), 1996.
“A health care profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on general health. There is an emphasis on manual techniques, including joint adjustment and/or manipulation with a particular focus on subluxations.”
Definition by The World Health Organization (WHO), Guidelines on Chiropractic, 2005

So I thought I would show some of the other ways Chiropractic or chiropractor have been spelt. Oh and don’t worry I’m not trying to make fun of anyone out there who calls me a chiropracter instead of ‘tor’. It makes me smile that’s all.
Chiropractor and Chiropractic?
I’m definitely not an English teacher and do declare that even though English is my first language that I may write things that are not the Queens English. So if you are an English grammer expert you can leave a comment at the bottom if you think there are English language laws that are being broken in this post. Also if you know any other ways chiropractor or chiropractic is spelt I would love to know.
